General frequently asked questions
Can I really use the grill indoors?
Yes. The bioethanol gel burns cleanly, without smoke or odor. So you can easily grill indoors or in the dining room.
How long does the gel burn?
One fill lasts approximately 45 minutes on average. Should that not be enough, simply refill within seconds.
Can I use the grill outdoors?
No, unfortunately not. The grill is very sensitive to drafts and is therefore only suitable for indoor use.
What type of fuel is used?
Foga Nova uses bioethanol gel , which is made from corn. A sustainable, clean fuel.
Can I use other burning gel or methylated spirits?
No. Only the supplied or recommended bioethanol gel may be used to ensure safety and clean combustion.
How much gel do I need per use?
One serving (approximately 200ml) is sufficient for a burning time of up to 45 minutes.
Can I refill the gel while the flame is still burning?
No, for safety reasons the grill may only be refilled after the flame has completely gone out . A suitable tool is included for this purpose, to extinguish the flame.
Cleaning & Care
How do I clean the grill after use?
Allow the grill to cool completely, remove the skewer, and simply clean stainless steel parts with warm water or in the dishwasher.
Is the grill dishwasher safe?
Yes – both the stainless steel grill and the ceramic plate can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
What do I do if gel residue remains in the container?
These can be removed with a paper towel once the container has completely cooled down.
Use & Preparation
What can I cook on the Foga Nova grill?
Almost anything: meat skewers, vegetables, bread, marshmallows, cheese, or vegan alternatives – your creativity knows no bounds. Caution! Do not grill viscous foods that could fall into the flames.
How long will it take before I can barbecue?
After lighting, the grill is ready for use within 3-4 minutes.
